Simulation 001: Tenebrae Town

Welcome to Tenebrae Town.

Your consciousness comes to you in the midst of a dense autumn forest. You haven't been asleep. You stand there, fully clothed, but perhaps not in your usual attire - perhaps you're wearing a belted tunic with trousers and leather boots to protect you from the cold ground, or a long and modest dress with an apron and a hood, hand-sewn in natural fabrics. The chill in the air and even the smell of the dirt and the trees are not like those of the Island. This place feels old, a strange energy crackling in the air. Some may recognize it as a very ancient magic.

Seek out others to help you find the secret paths through the forest. You cannot do it alone. Together the paths will lead you to a small town beneath a near-constant, gloomy cloud cover, where houses are built of wood and stone and villagers gather around a hearty bonfire at the town square for warmth. Horses traverse the streets, bringing villagers to and from their farms and the town's taverns and shops. Poke your head into any of these and make yourself friendly with the locals, and they will tell you this is Tenebrae Town, and they've been expecting you. Innkeepers and barkeeps welcome you with a free drink or a hot meal. All receive you like a friendly neighbor they haven't seen for a very long time.

Magna tempus

Head of the Council of Tenebrae and true leader of the town.

A powerful witch whose coven many humans within the town belong to, but even those outside of it feel her direct influence. The residents of Tenebrae have a generally positive view of Lorde Magna as she and her people run the ins and outs of the government, ensuring all conflicts are moderated and the people of the town have what they need to survive. She's known for her calm, composure, and patience, a natural diplomat and leader. But she is not one to be crossed, they will warn, as proven by the fact she has banished the other two Lords from the town for most of the year and can be very creative with her punishments.

Amet nullam

Council member and Lord of the Vampires in Tenebrae.

"All you have are Appearances. They define everything others believe to know about you. Reality is irrelevant when facts can be rewritten by assumptions."

Lord Amet is a captivating person, someone who knows how to draw attention and keep it, as an elder vampire with a powerful allure. He dresses in lavish finery, precious metals such as gold and silver, walks as if he is floating. He's a natural debater and public speaker, someone who can make very compelling arguments even for those who disagree with him. He can be very vain, arrogant, and temperamental, his people easily slighted and drawn into petty conflicts. He's also known for his polite yet condescending nature, but demands proper behavior from everyone in his Clan, because they have a reputation to uphold and appearances are everything.

Proin dolor

Council member and Lorde of the Werewolves of Tenebrae.

"Live while you have time to live and never give an inch of what should be yours. Once it's lost, you never gain it back."

Proin has a presence that demands attention, her very steps through the town causing tingling vibrations that the people can feel through their bodies and her eyes being that of a dangerous predator who knows the pleasure of the Hunt. She dresses as if she is one with the wood itself, in leathers, furs, feathers, vines, and other accents found or made from natural materials of the wood. She is a commanding person, with a deep voice and a laugh that bellows around the town. Unafraid of expressing her true emotions, but also unafraid of causing ruckus. She demands respect (despite hating being called a Lorde) but also revelry of her followers and is very protective of those who fall within her pack. Do not think her gregarious demeanor means her bite is not as dangerous as her bark.
